Client
Our client is one of the leading companies in the FMCG business and operates from two locations in the Netherlands. For their factory in Veghel we are looking for a Pension & Benefits Manager who will report directly into the Benefits Manager EMEA.
This is a key leadership role in the European Benefits Centre that has responsibility to develop, manage and implement a well governed benefits strategy. Initially the role will have responsibility for the Netherlands. In time the responsibilities of the role will be extended across the region.
Within the organisation you are responsible for the appropriate admin and governance structures for pension- and saving plans with 4000 members. You are the key contact with regional and local P&O, S&F and Pension Board. And you'll have a close interaction with Global Benefits Co-ordination Team (GBCT). Outside the company you will build/maintain a working relationship with the Dutch regulator and Actuarial, Legal, Financial and other advisors.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- To ensure the development of Dutch benefit plans consistent with corporate policies;
- to manage the relationship with the Dutch Trustee governance bodies and professional advisors ensuring that Trustee and Company are appropriately advised;
- to ensure that Dutch benefit plans have the appropriate admin & control structures, providing efficiency and transparency for all involved;
- to maintain effective communication with Corporate Staff on corporate policy and its implementation in the Netherlands;
- to stay ahead of external developments in Benefits, share this information with the appropriate business functions recommend how/when these best be implemented to support the organisation’s competitive edge;
- to provide an effective and efficient service to the Dutch P&O and S&F departments, all pension members and their dependants;
- provide effective people and line management through adequate recruitment, training challenge and support of the Benefits team.
Ideal candidate profile
- University degree in the field of Finance/Business Administration or similarly qualified;
- extensive professional experience in Dutch Pension Law and practices in pensions, trust and actuarial issues;
- proven analytical and financial skills;
- excellent language skills, orally and written, in English;
- the willingness to learn (or already speak) Dutch;
- ability to prioritise a demanding workload;
- result driven;
- strongly developed social and communicative skills;
- strong in building and expanding sustained customer relations;
- critical personality, who dares criticise current processes;
- open mind to an increasing element of international travel.
