The organisation

For one of our clients, we are currently recruiting for a seasoned CFO the Netherlands. The Dutch entity employs 1000+ dedicated employees and is part of a large international group.

The position

The CFO the Netherlands takes accountability for planning, implementing, managing all Finance, Accounting, Business Controlling, Risk Management and IT of the local organization and is responsible for the strategy and realization of the firm’s long, mid and short term financial targets. The position leads and develops a team of 15+ finance & IT professionals. 

Tasks & responsibilities

A major task of the CFO will be to restructure the finance department, optimize standards and processes, develop internal control framework, help to right size the business and dispose part of the business. Which requires not only strong financial skills, but also excellent business acumen, drive for change management, stakeholder management and people management competencies. Reporting to the CEO of the Netherlands as well as to the Finance Director Europe, the CFO position is a highly impactful and challenging role.

Candidate profile

Background and Experience

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related is required, ideally an additional post grad degree such as Registered Accountant or Controller (RA/RC/EFMC).
• Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in a broadening Finance role, of which at least 5+ years in an executive role within an international (reporting) setting.
• Experience in a dynamic service-oriented industry, stakeholder management, restructuring and change is a must. 

Personal Skills

• Excellent communication and influencing skills in English and Dutch.
• Strategic and business acumen, helicopter view with long-term, yet hands-on and able to work on the operational level.  
• Driven, hungry and energetic to set and achieve ambitious targets.
• Perseverant, resilient, sturdy and stress resistant.
• Strong change manager with exceptional leadership and transformation skills.
