CFO

The organisation  

Our client, Alba Scrap and Metal Holdings Ltd., is searching for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) (m/f) for Europe Metals B.V. and subsidiaries  

The position

The holder of this position reports in a direct line to the CTO Waste and Metals. The residency is in the Netherlands.   

Tasks & responsibilities

• Responsible for all commercial issues in our internationally operating cooperation
• Responsible for the analysis, evaluation and commercial direction of projects and investments and the creation of feasibility studies
• Securing the maintenance of all regulations of national and international financial reporting standards
• Development of forecasts, target/situation and sensitivity analyses
• Responsible for the development of methods for risk assessment, as well as the complete hedging business
• Preparation and delivery of valid information for strategic decision-making
• Seizing of correction- and optimization measures for the improvement of firm processes and results
• Execution of yearly planning and budgeting with the close coordination of top management
• Responsible for monthly- and yearly statements
• Undertaking of analyses of the periodical results together with deviation analyses, moreover responsible for the creation of key figures and the demonstration of improvement potentials
• Leading of a team with professional and disciplinary responsibility and the leadership of the company located in Hong Kong. This requires a regular presence in Hong Kong (4 times yearly, for the duration of 1 week)   

Candidate profile

Expertise

• Master's degree or comparable at an accredited university
• Several years of experience in a comparable function in an international environment
• Exemplary knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS)
• Exemplary knowledge of the stock exchange (London Metal Exchange)
• Sound knowledge in the execution of currency businesses with USD/EUR and thereby related knowledge in the area of hedging and brokerage
• Sound know-how of core processes and workflows in internationally operating trading societies
• Very good German and English language skills; ideally Dutch

• Distinct numerical understanding and solid analytical skills, is able to deeply pervade into structures and processes
• A very structured, precise and methodical approach, demonstration of high reliability and sustainability
• A high concept on efficiency, focus on cost-efficiency and a distinct interest in the creation of value
• Does not remain in the planning phase, but has above average implementation skills, is willing to take on operative tasks and to work though topics independently and has follow-through skills
• Has the will to carry and drive change, is result- and solution oriented in the performing of set requirements
• A strong service-orientation combined with high integration and implementation abilities
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic and decisive
• A consolidated concept of leading as well as the ability to establish a relational level with others and to motivate them
• High intercultural competence with a balanced relationship between assertiveness and diplomatic skills
• Willingness to travel 4 times a year, for respectively one week, to Hong Kong.
