We are looking to hire an entrepreneurial and very energetic CFO who is able to help the company achieve its game-changing ambitions. To beat their own lofty targets, the new CFO will play a pivotal role in building a solid finance organization/team and to support future growth.
With the founders as majority shareholders and backed by a truly entrepreneurial investment company, our client is ready for further rapid international expansion. 

The position

The challenges:

• Present reliable and consistent monthly figures and forecasts, supported by deep research
• Take control of the financials, with the ability to explain differences between previous periods and forecast – no surprises, please!
• Show where growth is currently, and identify where it will come from in the future
• Consistent and reliable forecast/latest estimate supported by fact based figures 
• Built a solid finance organization/team which is able to support future growth

Tasks & responsibilities

Strategy

• Get actively involved in company strategy, together with the two CEOs, as well as Marketing, Supply Chain and R&D Directors
• Take the lead developing a multi-year business plan
• Coordinate investment planning together with R&D, Marketing and Supply Chain

Financial Control & Accounting

• Manage and improve the central Finance departments for European, Asian and American markets 
• Ensure the accuracy, digitalization, and appropriate structure of all financial accounting processes (GL, AP/AR management) 
• Optimize Odoo functionality
• Responsible for the preparation of (consolidated) annual statements 
• Interaction with external auditor(s).

Business Control & Management Accounting

• Provide analyses into financial and commercial performance 
• Provide (daily) insights into business performance, comparing real-world figures to targets and strategy 
• Coordinate and optimize all forecasts, integrating budget and long-term planning processes.

Taxes & Customs

• Maintain relationships with tax and custom authorities 
• Create and maintain the transfer pricing plan 
• Execute tax rulings and special agreements 
• Take responsibility for VAT, corporation tax and payroll tax

Funding & Working Capital 

• Oversee and improve investor relations 
• Prepare and execute further expansion of investor base

Legal & Risk Management.

• Maintain and protect intellectual property 
• Mitigate currency-specific risk 
• Create and manage contracting, deal making and partnerships 
• Perform corporate housekeeping regarding Chamber of Commerce matters, bank relations, and contract management

Candidate profile

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Business Economics preferably with a complementary postgraduate qualification
• At least 10 years’ financial management experience
• IT-savvy ambitions
• Effective experience working at management level in an international and multicultural environment 
• Willingness to travel internationally 
• Experience in retail is highly desirable
• Superb English skills, both written and verbal
• Dutch language skills are helpful but not essential
