The organisation

DMPM is an ambitious organization that offers investors (including banks, insurers and asset managers) at home and abroad the opportunity to acquire a Dutch to build up a mortgage portfolio that is put together by DMPM according to the specific wishes of the investor. Since its incorporation in 2016, DMPM has managed to facilitate the origination of EUR 11bln of prime Dutch mortgage loans on behalf of the investor it services. The investment mandates of these investors have been and are being realised through a comprehensive suite of mortgage labels and investment solutions. Through its five distinctive mortgage labels, DMPM is able to cover the full spectrum of the Dutch mortgage market and offer each type of consumer an attractive mortgage proposition. Together with De Hypotheker, these organizations form the Blauwtrust Group (BTG), which employs more than 800 people. Dutch Mortgage Portfolio Management is supervised by the AFM and the DNB.

The position

As Director of Institutional Business, you are responsible for developing and executing strategies to manage and expand business relationships with institutional clients in the Netherlands. The Director of Institutional Business is responsible for attracting funding as a basis for new business opportunities and growth strategies for the organization. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills and a strong commercial mindset, but also excellent feeling for the world of institutional investors due to the extensive experience you have gained in it. You work solo, but at the same time, you intensively coordinate your strategies and progress with the management. You have a keen eye for possible future developments in the market because you know the players, analyze shifts, think ahead and maintain your contacts very well. The Director of Institutional Business has a large network in the institutional investment world in the Netherlands and is independently able to open doors at C-level for prospects.

Candidate profile

• We are looking for a seasoned financial services professional with a strong and comprehensive understanding of the Dutch institutional investor market and investment/buying/decision-making processes, particularly within pension funds and asset management firms for our client.
• Enough expertise in this area to navigate the complexities of the market with ease.
• In-depth knowledge of the key players in the target market, recognizing "who is who,“
• Skilled at building and leveraging relationships at various levels to advance our client as a trusted “regiepartij” (intermediary) and establish the group as a credible within the industry.
• Speaks the language of investors fluently. Translates their needs and preferences into concrete business and product requirements. This ensures that our offerings are tailored to meet the specific demands of our institutional clients.
• Background in selling mortgage-related investments.
• Deep understanding of Residential Mortgages as an asset class, which allows us to provide valuable insights and solutions to clients in this area.
• Good knowledge of all developments, products, business processes and administrative systems in the mortgage market
• Highly skilled at managing long sales funnels, but result-driven and laser-focused on making a tangible impact within the target organization.
• Thriving on the challenge of shaping solutions that are precisely tailored to meet the needs of our target customers while working within the boundaries of the company's capabilities.
