Director International Business Control

The organisation

Our client is a leading global fleet management and driver mobility company of Dutch origin. They operate in 32 countries and have over 7.400 employees worldwide. With over EUR 9 billion turnover, EUR 450 million net profit and EUR 23 billion total assets, they are one of a kind.

Last year, the company was acquired by a consortium composed of long-term responsible investors. Since this acquisition, a new leadership team has been created. Also, a couple of new Board members have been appointed. Their goals in creating a new organisation structure:

The position

Given the transformation of the organisation, our client wishes to attract a Director International Business Control (Director IBC). This newly created role is a high profile position in the central finance team, more specific “based” in the value stream Finance. As a functional value driver, the purpose of the value stream Finance is to oversee and drive strategic financial planning, including budgeting and forecasting, reporting and creation of value. The department enables the strategic ambition to become “One” by the standardisation of the finance function and drives the transition to the P&L of the future. The finance team acts as one to drive the business performance of the company.

The Director IBC supports SVP’s of the strategic value streams to further strengthen and adapt the companies value strategy. Furthermore, he/she (this will not be repeated) manages revenue and related expense reporting for value streams/countries thereby ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of results, comparative analysis and advises value streams/countries about finance leadership. Moreover, the Director IBC understands the business/economic/environmental/country specific drivers of actual results and advises value streams/countries accordingly.

The Director IBC reports directly to the SVP Finance and will functionally report to line managers (depending on the projects) and has (extensive) country contacts (i.e. not a desk job). The role is a good starting position to further pursue a career within the company.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate for this position will be a strong business minded financial with experience in working in a fast-paced environment. In short:

• University Degree (Master’s) in Finance or Business related studies
• RC and/or RA is preferred
• 10+ years of experience in financial management/business control in highly professional companies
• International experience
• Change management experience
• Excellent analysis and problem solving skills
• Result orientated
