The position

Within this highly entrepreneurial and driven company we are currently recruiting a European Controller who will head the European Finance & Accounting operations which represents more than 90% of revenue and people within Crowd Mobile. The European Controller is a newly created leadership opportunity for a hands on, proven professional finance leader. The European Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer in Australia, with day to day partnering of other senior management, in Amsterdam. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to build their own high quality team and engrain best practices within the finance area of a multinational technology, public company as the organisation pursues an exciting growth agenda across Europe and further abroad. 

Tasks & responsibilities

• Build and actively manage a team of 5+ finance professionals across Europe
• Responsible for in sourcing of external accountant and compliance functions for a recently acquired Mobile Content acquisition in The Netherlands
• Best practice management of an operational accounting team 
• Establishment of an integrated Financial Planning & Analysis capability- Management of monthly closing activities, ensuring close calendar cut-offs and deliverables are met
• Prepare  timely and accurate monthly financial statements, management reports and financial analysis
• Participation with the Financial Controller-ANZ in optimizing the group consolidation processes 
• Presentation of reports to the CFO, board, banks & stakeholders
• Drive efficiencies by identifying process deficiencies, offering viable and scalable solutions and driving cross-departmental collaboration to implement those solutions
• Develop templates and managing the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes together with the Financial Controller-ANZ
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements in The Netherlands and Europe more broadly
• Liaise with auditors, bankers, insurers, regulatory and compliance partners
• Active contribution to the strategic decision making processes

Candidate profile 

• Master or bachelor's degree in Business and Finance Administration, with a concentration on accounting
• Minimum of eight years experience as a finance executive with a demonstrated track record
• Certified Accountant (CPA) or Registered Accountant (RA) 
• Solid knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS
• Relevant sector experience in Mobile Internet, E-commerce or digital Publishing is a pre
• Multi-national, public listed company experience desirable
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully and with speed in a cross functional environment
