FEC Specialist

For an international bank in Amsterdam we are looking for an FEC Specialist

The position has been created to assist Compliance to further embed the FEC policies into the business. This position will be a key channel for advice, education, coaching, communication and sharing of best practice. As the Global expert in Customer Due Diligence and Payments your tasks, within this domain, will include but are not be limited to:

• Maintaining expertise and in depth subject knowledge and understanding of good practice and procedures in customer due diligence taking into account characteristics of the different customer segments
• Maintaining expertise and in depth subject knowledge and understanding of good practice and procedures in relevant Payments platforms and regulations
• Oversee and advice (partner) on the implementation of the Global Mandate for Commercial Banking Customer Domain, as business owner of the CDD processes for a number of customer segments and the CDD Tool as well as the implementation of the Global Mandate Pre-Transaction Screening for Cross-Border Payments owned by Commercial Banking Payments and Cash Management;
• Maintain global oversight by monitoring the local control framework and embedding of Policies;
• Align the activities of the MLRO community with the Global Mandate in terms of local oversight, advice and the implementation of compliance monitoring;
• Monitor and follow-up on open audit-items and incidents as reported through the NFRD process;
• Key advisory role on waiver requests relevant to the CDD & Payments domain;
• Ensure management information is made available through the FEC Dashboard to give substance to a risk based compliance risk management approach for the CDD & Payments domain;
• Provide advice and assistance to the MLRO community and the Business;
• Identify key areas for improvement and provide support and guidance to implement
• good practice - “ turning paper into practice”.

The Financial Economic Crime (FEC) team develops policies and tools – and provides advice and guidance to support Business Lines in managing client conduct related integrity risks.

Specifically, the FEC team defines the companies policies in relation to financial economic crime and (ultra) high risk countries – and provides tools and advice to assist business lines in implementing the policies and managing these compliance risks.

The FEC team also supports the companies relationships with key external stakeholders, regulators and supervisory institutions, in relation to FEC and ultra high risk countries.

Education & skills

• Degree qualification in legal/business/accounting
• Minimum of 6-8 years experience working in AML Compliance (in a Bank)
• Expert knowledge in FEC and specialist knowledge in Customer Due Diligence/Payments
• ACAMS or similar qualification
• Good knowledge of laws and regulations related to Customer Due Diligence in particular
• Willing to travel internationally
• Fluent in English language
• Strong experience to compliance issues and practices on a daily basis
