Finance Director - Amsterdam

Our client (NASDAQ listed) is an independent publisher of entertainment software for consoles, PCs, handhelds, mobile devices, and other digital media.

The Finance Director will be responsible for Finance, Banking, Business Development Finance and Accounting, Administration, Controlling and compliance. In this role you will be a strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Vice President, providing guidance in the areas of contract negotiation, financial analysis and maximizing the overall success of the business.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective financial policies, systems, and procedures
• Direct and analyze the financial condition of the company and its impact on the overall
• organization’s success
• Responsible for all reporting towards the Nasdaq & shareholders
• Preparation and coordination of SEC Filings
• Minimize risk exposure related to tax, cash, currency and interests
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Manage all other finance activities, including all day-to-day activities, including month-end close, P&L review, (cash) forecasting, and financial analysis
• Articulate detailed financial & business analysis to the management team and the executive staff
• Help negotiate and give input on new and extended existing contracts
• Manage a small team of finance professionals
• Liaise with external auditors and advisors in the US and The Netherlands

Ideal candidate profile: 

• Minimum of 8- 10 years international progressive experience in finance, preferably in the media/entertainment industry
• Experience in an international listed company is considered a plus
• Exposure to mergers and acquisitions
• Advanced degree in finance preferred (MBA, RA/RC, CPA).
• Significant experience with financial analysis, modeling, and business development
• Ability to travel as required
• Good knowledge of SOX, IFRS and US GAAP
• Fluent in English
• Accurate

• Excellent communication skills
• Able to operate on strategic level as well as operational
