Finance Director

The organisation

Our client is an international private investment firm with global investments in domestic and commercial real estate. 

The position 

The role is located in the European Holding in Amsterdam which is responsible of a private investment portfolio. As the Finance Director you will be in charge of the Group’s Dutch entities which includes the drafting of financial statements and internal high-level consulting on real estate tax matters of those companies. You will be working in close cooperation with the CEO, while bank- and director authorisations are on a joint basis. 

Tasks & responsibilities 

As a Finance Director you are ultimately responsible for real estate investment strategies, asset management, due diligence, tax & compliance, financing & investment budgets. In this role you prepare consolidated accounts of the Dutch top holding company, communicate with auditors, provide internal high-level advisory on real estate tax matters and handle corporate governance documentation for internal funding. Moreover, you will be in communication with Transfer Pricing advisors and advisors on tax structuring for new investment projects. Among others, you will need to handle bank relations, including bank accounts, FX transactions and loan agreement negotiations.

Being part of the Senior Management you are asked to contribute in finance related discussions for investment proposals prepared for the Investment Committee, participate in and prepare minutes of management board meetings and finally become authorised director for most of the group's Dutch entities. 

Candidate profile 

For this role you need to have more than 7 years of experience in accounting positions. To be the ideal candidate, you need to have Big 4 Audit background and then experience within real-estate industry in which you had exposure to tax- and real-estate-knowledge. Proficiency in English and Dutch, verbal and written is a hard requirement. In order to succeed in this role, you have to be an independent worker with a hands on mentality and with experience in senior level interaction.
