Finance Director

The organisation

For one of our clients, a Dutch-based manufacturing company with 130 employees and production, sales and service locations all around the world, we are currently looking for a Finance Director to be based at the company’s headquarters in the Eindhoven area.

The position

As Finance Director you are responsible for proper and accurate accounting of all operations and consolidation of all financial information.

Next to broad finance responsibilities, the Finance Director will be a strategic sparring partner for the Managing Director of the company and towards the Supervisory Board.

Focus of the role will be to further develop and professionalize the organization, managing various projects aimed at improving organizational quality and company performance and realizing continued growth. 

The position will be based in the area of Eindhoven. Frequent international travel will be required.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Act as a strategic sparring partner for the Managing Director and support the continued growth of the company, e.g. including the set-up of additional international locations
• Ensure compliancy of financial processes and financial reporting
• Further develop and professionalize financial accounting, risk management and corporate governance
• Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing within the defined deadlines and manage all monthly and quarterly management reports
• Improve management information system
• Ensure accurate and timely budgeting, forecasting and controlling
• Prepare for Supervisory Board meetings
• Be responsible for tax processes, legal matters and IT
• Ensure best practice on transfer pricing
• Act as a key contact towards banks, tax advisors, auditors, lawyers and other financially relevant parties
• Manage and coach a small dispersed team

Candidate profile

 Background and Experience

• A Finance or Business related Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required
• At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in Finance, of which at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Experience having worked for manufacturing companies is a must have
• Track record in further developing a financial organization, administrative procedures and internal controls
• Strong background with financial ERP and reporting/ consolidation and preferably with the implementation of sophisticated transfer pricing solutions
• Experience working in international business environments
• Background with the management of various projects such as IT projects
• Experience dealing with supervisory boards would be considered a plus
• Experience in an end-responsible finance role would be considered a plus, but our client is also open for candidates who will make a step
• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
