We are seeking a Finance Director with exceptional problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills, who has experience in a complex finance function within an industrial services / service to service (Facility Management) sector. You have the ability to drive decisions in a highly collaborative culture ensuring that the motivation is around doing what is best for the business. All with a hands-on mentality. 

The position  

As Finance Director you lead the financial process and you are responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting of the results. In the role of Finance Director you lead the annual budgeting process, for which excellent analytical and financial modelling skills are required. Next to this you will assure timely and accurate accounting closes, report preparation and distribution, and deliver decision support for financial analyses. 

Tasks & responsibilities

As Finance Director you are a member of the regional Management Team and report to the VP of Finance who is based in Switzerland. Additional responsibilities include working with tax advisors, auditors and monitoring the banking functions. This position will take part in strategic planning and operational management of the Dutch entities and plays a key role in determining and executing the strategy. 

You are responsible for local and related corporate financial reporting including statutory reporting, revenue recognition, implementation and adherence to corporate accounting policies. Similarly, you are responsible for the monthly and quarterly financial close process, budget to actual reporting/ analysis and business reviews. In you r role you help create an environment to enable informed decisions, and you effectively communicate financial information.

Furthermore, it is required that you understand the markets, customers and needs, and that you support business decisions from an analytical perspective by providing insights on financial- and business performance. As Finance Director you drive the development of budgets, detailed business plans, and forecasts, and make recommendations to optimize financial performance. You will also develop and track key metrics, help drive financial performance initiatives, monitor progress against plan, and ensure that operating infrastructure is in place to achieve business goals and financial targets. Lastly, you are responsible for ad hoc projects and financial analysis to support key business decisions, and you drive continuous improvement in processes and systems. 

Candidate profile

• As a Finance Director you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, business administration or similar. Preferably you possess a title as CPA | RA | RC. You have completed this with a minimum of 7+ years all-round / hands-on experience within an industrial services / service to service (Facility Management) sector. It is required that you understand the dynamics and the complexity of a project driven organization. 
• To be successful as Finance Director you have a strong finance and accounting background - Technical Accounting, and possess proven management skills, including the ability to persuade others to achieve excellence and to foster an environment of openness and teamwork. You also have a strong knowledge base and working skills with cost accounting, product costing and analysis, standard setting, and variances analysis. 
• Furthermore, you have business acumen ability to understand key aspects of the company’s business strategy as well as the ability to recommend changes that have the potential to further strengthen the company’s results. You are hands on, with a demonstrated ability to see the big picture / think broadly while also diving down into operational and execution details. You are also able to to dissect, analyze and present complex financial information in an accurate, meaningful and user-friendly manner.
• Obviously as a Finance Director you are a self-starter with a sense of urgency who finds a way to get the job done – high energy level, persistent, curious – a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Highly appreciated is your uncompromising personal integrity, as well as high-level of respect for all individuals. 
• You have excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language (if not don’t apply because applications will not be taken into procedure).
