Our client, Holland Casino, has fourteen casinos across the Netherlands. The casinos are welcoming entertainment venues with a varied range of games and food and beverage options. Guests play games for money safely and responsibly. Employees of Holland Casino are ready to give their guests a warm welcome 364 days a year. 

The position

Holland Casino’s headquarter is situated in Hoofddorp, near Schiphol Airport. Holland Casino is currently launching an Online Casino. For this new Online business we are looking for a Finance Director. This is a newly created role. You will be reporting to the VP Finance & Control.

In this project Holland Casino is supported by an experienced player in the online gaming world (their partner is Playtech). In an outsourced environment, Holland Casino will be able to adequately and rapidly follow the latest technological and organizational innovations on gaming and integration platforms.

Tasks & responsibilities

There will be a branche office in Malta. The Finance Director is responsible for opening and setting up this office. Accounting will be taken care of in the SSC. There will also be a Controller working in Malta for the Online Business. You will be working from the HQ in Hoofddorp and frequently travel to Malta.

As Finance Director you will be primarily responsible for financial functions, you will oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives and create the necessary framework for these to be met.

Besides advising on investment activities and providing the strategy that the company should take, you will liaise with different stakeholders: with Legal to ensure finance compliance with laws and regulations; with the Auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained; with the CEO and Executive Management to develop the financial strategy for the company. Ofcourse you will develop your team and conduct performance assessment.

Other responsibilities:

• Conduct reviews and evaluations for income, cash flow and expenditure and identify cost-reduction opportunities;
• Develop financial and economic modeling in order to develop a market cycle strategy and quantify risks/returns at the asset and portfolio levels;
• Develop tax strategy and compliance functions and ensure that the company’s legal structure optimizes tax, operational and reporting efficiencies;
• Design monthly reporting dashboards and management reports – monitor KPIs and recommend improvements;
• Be involved in recruiting the necessary resources to support the financial functions.
• Act as sparring partner with Casino Manager and functioning as first point of contact with Playtech.

Candidate profile

We are looking for a dynamic individual, with strong work ethics and analytical skills. You will be able to prove your leadership skills in different business contexts and delivering clear and concise messages to any internal or external stakeholder. You have highly developed communication skills.

• At least 5-10 years of experience in senior finance management roles;
• knowledge of IFRS is a must;
• knowledge of tax optimization;
• preferably SAP knowledge;
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications are highly desirable;
• Ability to manage, police and enforce budgets with internal teams, third parties and other cluster owners;
• Experience within the online gaming industry is highly recommended, in depth knowledge of Online Marketing is a must;
• Experience with Online Payment (paypall, ideal/ credit card);
• You are a strong business partner and are strategically strong but at the same time you are hands-on and able to set up a new starting business;
• Willing to frequently international travel, 35%
