Turkish subsidiary for a technical services provider in the maritime sector. Due to the confidentiality of our client no further information will be disclosed at this moment.
The position
The Finance Director Turkey reports to the divisional Director Finance & Control. He/She is leading the Turkish subsidiary together with the Managing Director of the Turkish organization. Located in Istanbul (Turkey).
Tasks & responsibilities
- Management of the Finance, IT, Legal and Risk Management functions of the Turkish subsidiary;
- Business control, analysis and reporting of the monthly results of the Turkish subsidiary and communication/discussion of these results with the management of the Turkish subsidiary;
- Implement project control methodology, in line with requirements of the organization;
- Budgeting and forecasting processes of the Turkish subsidiary;
- Assessment of proposals to customers with a view on profitability, inherent risks plus mitigation of such risks and cash flows;
- Roll-out of and establishing adherence to Group / Corporate policies with respect to GRC, Treasury, Reporting;
- Professionalization of support functions of the Turkish subsidiary;
- Supervision of Cash planning/Cash management;
- Contacts with external advisors and auditors in Turkey;
- Maintaining and improving the internal control framework in Turkey;
- Ensuring decisions are made in accordance with the Group authorization schedule;
- Upgrading of the local information systems, in line with corporate strategy and policies;
- Initiating and managing improvement projects.
Candidate profile
- University or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent;
- Certified auditor/controller or similar work experience;
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an international finance position (multinational, Big 4 audit firm);
- Experience with project-control;
- Previous experience with managing a multi-disciplinary team;
- Proven track record with respect to achieving set targets/goals;
- Practical mindset and very good analytical skills;
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written) and well developed communication skills;
- Familiar with the Dutch and Turkish culture;
- Stress resistant and committed to meeting deadlines;
- Sharp business sense, understands the dynamics of the business and, in cooperation with the operations, is able to translate this into numbers (actuals, forecasts, budgets, cashflow information);
- Having good judgment which decisions may or may not be taken independently.
- Willing to live in Turkey for at least a few years.
