The position
EF Education First (Amsterdam) is hiring a Finance Manager. Do you like to operate in a small team a take a big responsibility? Read on!
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily finance operations, ensuring strong internal financial controls, timely month-end closings, and proper handling of VAT and TAX matters. This hands-on role includes managing both operational and administrative tasks and reports to Emma Bjurman, Director of Finance ILC.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Manage finance operations, including budgeting, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tasks.
- Ensure compliance with EF's GCP Group control Policy and maintain internal controls.
- Oversee governance procedures, including the execution of the Approval matrix, PoA, Board minutes, and AGM.
- Maintain an updated digital Company binder to ensure compliance.
- Handle legal, tax, and VAT matters, ensuring compliance with local laws and transfer pricing regulations.
- Manage customers' Terms & Conditions, both in process and compliance.
- Prepare and oversee financial reporting, Maintain and report about balance sheet items in a timely matter
- Provide financial and managerial reports, such as Quarterly reports, Local LRM reports, Board presentations, and OKR reports.
- Manage contracts and negotiations, with a keen eye for detail.
- Oversee intercompany transactions and manage cash and treasury activities.
- Ensure compliance of insurance.
- Optimize finance processes and collaborate with Finance Shared Services in Bangalore for core processes.
- Handle procurement, ensuring well-negotiated contracts with suppliers.
- Oversee HR-related matters, including employment contracts, staff recruitment, and compliance with local employment laws.
- Act as a Business Partner to the Country Manager in FM Promotion markets, supporting business decisions and participating in management meetings to ensure compliance.
- Reporting to senior management including Directors, CFO's, product heads and other stakeholders in Central Finance.
