Finance Manager

The organisation

Our client is an international offshore firm that has a large fleet and a global presence. For their office in the Ijmuiden area, they are urgently recruiting a Finance manager with an accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, RA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) and the ambition to work in a dynamic and challenging environment. 
 
The position

In this role you will have 3 financials who report to you. You will report directly to the Division Controller. 
 
Tasks & responsibilities

You will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely management on a monthly basis. As Finance Manager you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate legal entity books and records. The Finance Manager is completing the statutory financial statements across multiple jurisdictions due on the deadline as per required by the firm. You will do the analytical reviewing of indirect Tax calculations and payments. Besides that you will ensure the company’s compliance with tax legislation through the criteria of the Corporate Tax Department, apply the internal control procedures, includes those that are established under the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) and handle corporate external and internal audit deliverables.

You will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the division’s compliance with firm’s AFE, spending and accounting policies and procedures. As Finance Manager you will monitor compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and relatable company policies, assist the Division Management in annual budget preparation and regular forecasting and be responsible for the supervision of all accounting functions and accounting personnel actively. Besides that you will be delegating the maintenance of files as required for the company’s recordkeeping.

The Finance Manager will be thoroughly overseeing performance management and ensuring discipline and grievance process for subordinates is effectively applied and conducted according to the company’s policies and procedures. You are a mentor to the team members, you will encourage and support them to ensure that they have the skills and opportunity through your important role to develop by multiple training programs, which can lead to job promotions for the potential team members. You have accurate knowledge of Indirect Taxes for European locations, are experienced in financial accounting and MS Office software with the preferable knowledge of SAP & Hyperion and you are capable of making thorough analyses and able to interpret complex financial information.

The Finance Manager has a helicopter view and problem solving skills: Demonstrate ability to evaluate problems from different type of views and recognize the main reason of the problem and suggest realistic solutions. You have team management, influencing and effective stakeholder management skills. You have an open communication style and a direct approach. You have the intention to develop a good working relationship with Divisional and Corporate Colleagues, Client and external stakeholders as required. 

Candidate profile

As Finance Manager you hold the title of CA, ACCA, RA ,CPA, CIMA or equivalent. Besides that you have experience leading a finance team. Ideally you have experience in the Oil & Gas Industry and/or in an international environment. Experience with reporting in IFRS and various GAAP’s and experience with statutory reporting is expected from the candidate. Experience with SOX compliance, tax reporting, or a legal background of any kind are considered a plus. As Finance Manager you are fluent in English, Dutch proficiency would be appreciated.
