Financial Controller

The organisation

Our client is a Dutch based pan-European business banking platform that provides working capital solutions and electronic invoicing. They are working in the fields of Supply Chain Finance and Fixed Income. Our client is rapidly expanding its services and is ready to become a major Fintech player. Because of their growth we are urgently hiring a Financial Controller for their Hilversum office.

The position

As Financial Controller you will be responsible for setting up the Finance department. You will be managing the Finance function for the entire Dutch operation. This includes preparing of monthly management accounts, maintaining the GL set-up including opening new accounts. The (Senior) Financial Controller reports directly to the CEO of the company.

Furthermore, the Financial Controller will prepare financial accounts and statements, monitor budget and expenses and maintain a fixed asset register. You will be responsible for the payroll, creditors and debtors function, income tax and VAT preparation. Moreover, you will co-ordinate the internal audit function, and will be the point of contact of external auditors.

Candidate profile

You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in management and financial accounting. You will have a Master’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting or related fields. You will need an excellent command of the English and Dutch languages, being moderate or fluent in German is an advantage. You are skilled in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and preferably Scrum or Kanban.

Furthermore, you have a passion for excellence, can handle pressure and take responsibility. You are mature and disciplined and have a sense of humor. Finally, this role requires an open minded professional who is willing to work in an ever-changing company.
