Group Audit Director

The organisation

Our client is a leading provider of total service management solutions. Our client has a global presence with over 20 operationally sites in Europe and the Middle East, North America, Asia and Australia. Our client employs approximately 6,000 people worldwide, including its lean management structure headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The position

We are currently recruiting a proactive and independent Group Audit Director based at the Headquarters in Amsterdam. You will be part of the Finance Leadership Team and report directly to the management Board based in Amsterdam. The metrics for success will be measured qualitatively and quantitatively achievement of the annual audit plan, the ability to deliver recommendation for improvements to operational and financial processes and reduction of external audit fees. Success will be measured as well on the seamless integration within the overall Finance function and liaison with other functions.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Develop a 3-year strategic audit plan according to the company strategy;
• Audit the worldwide operations in accordance with the audit plan;
• Implement operational audits adding value to the organization’s operations;
• Provide advice and contribute pro actively to the necessary improvements of the control environment;
• Support the external audit;
• Contribute to the development and improvement of group policies and procedures;
• Contribute to the implementation of the “One Operation Standard” companywide to promote the brand;
• Presenting (on demand basis) to the Audit Committee;
• Cooperate closely with the VP Operations but also with other functions like Human Resources, Logistics and IT to ensure optimal company performance.

The ideal candidate:

• Certified Auditor by education preferably with internal audit specialization;
• 8+ Years Experience in Internal Auditing, preferably in a manufacturing environment;
• 8+ Years Experience in running an small international internal audit department;
• Hands on mentality;
• Intrinsic motivation;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural understanding;
• Conceptual, strategic thinker;
• Change agent;
• Negotiation acumen;
• Excellent communication skills in writing and verbally;
• German and Spanish language skills is a preference;
• Willingness to travel on a regular basis;
