(Group) Commercial Finance Manager

The organisation

Our client is an international maritime supply chain solutions organisation whose core business is to develop/operate and manage maritime supply chain solutions for industrial customers in target industry sectors. They have a diversified European geographical presence with terminals, creating an integrated network in key strategic ports across Europe.
 
The position

For this organisation we are looking for a (Group) Commercial Finance Manager. The commercial Finance Manager will be worldwide responsible for the business control of the commercial part of the organisation.
The Commercial Finance Manager will report to the Group CFO and work closely with the Group CCO. He/she will be responsible for partnering with the wider business, supporting them with financial matters and becoming a role model for the local finance team, helping to drive the business performance.

As a member of the Group Finance team, he/she will ensure the commercial function operates within a sound control framework and executes an effective performance management process. This role also drives Finance participation in the Commercial and business processes, especially Post Award Contract Management, for bottom line impact or customer (contract) profitability. This requires significant collaboration with the Business, Commercial, and Finance. The position will strengthen the close cooperation between Commercial and Finance, and will improve Sales Force Effectiveness through enhancement of the commercial model including its value proposition to its customers as well as its salesforce organisation.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Support the country management in delivering business and financial plans
• Key contact for the Country Finance Director or manager in the preparation and submission of commercial budgets, commercial reports, profitability analysis, and tender documents
• Provide commercial advice and challenge business projects
• Champion the production, analysis and communication of commercial KPI’s throughout the business – recommend improvements to drive enhanced performance
• Work with commercial managers on optimizing commercial contracts
• Provide analysis on commercial contracts, sectors and individual clients and thereby help driving business performance.

Candidate Profile

• University degree (Master’s) in Finance or Business related studies
• Preferably RC degree
• Approximately 8 -12 years of experience in business controlling and / or commercial finance in a highly professional environment
• Commercial acumen and a strong business partnering focus
• Excellent analysis and problem solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and innovate
• Result orientated
• Strong communication skills
• Mature and balanced
• Knows how to operate in a highly demanding environment.
