Group Treasurer

The organisation

Our client is a holding company of an international conglomerate, engaging in the worldwide buying and selling of a diverse range of commodity products. With a vast portfolio of over 600 products distributed across 100+ countries, the group operates through 100%-owned subsidiaries, each trading independently under their own name and financial jurisdiction.

The position

Page Executive has been given the exclusive assignment to recruit a Group Treasurer for our client, a globally renowned and publicly listed commodity trading group.

As the Group Treasurer, you have a leading role and responsibility for all cash management, funding strategies, corporate finance matters. Additionally you will contribute to the merger and acquisition activities of the organization.

The Group Treasurer reports directly to the Group CFO and leads 1 direct report, the Treasury Analyst. As a business partner, you advice group leadership and the management of the subsidiaries in the process of strategical decisions. You are the primary contact person for the banks.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Enhance and optimize the daily cash management and group cash management structure.
• Spearhead the implementation of a treasury system, driving automation and innovation to establish a world-class in-house bank.
• Foster robust relationships with various departments and stakeholders, both within operating companies and the holding entity, to enhance the central treasury function and offer expert counsel on treasury transactions, funding strategies, credit insurance, and working capital solutions.
• Manage foreign exchange and commodity exposures, while expanding the use of the FX trading platform and continually evaluating the effectiveness of hedging policies.
• Act as the primary liaison for banks, credit insurers, and other external stakeholders.
• Contribute to value growth through innovative financing solutions, funding optimization, and working capital management.
• Lead negotiations for transaction terms and loan documentation.
• Assist in the end-to-end M&A process, including initial valuation, synergy modeling, proposal preparation for management approval, due diligence, transaction closure, and integration planning.
• Exercise control, development, and reporting of treasury policies and procedures.
• Provide ad-hoc analyses and decision support.
• Participate in and/or lead special projects as assigned.

Candidate profile

• Master's degree in Business Administration or Finance, preferably accompanied by post-academic courses (RC/RT or equivalent).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in an international (corporate) treasury environment.
• Demonstrated track record of developing and executing treasury strategies that yield tangible results.
• Strong knowledge of financial and derivative markets, coupled with extensive experience in treasury products and core treasury processes.
• Hands-on experience with reviewing bank and other financing documentation, along with a proven ability to execute deals.
• Sound understanding of corporate finance principles and practical application.
• Proficiency in relevant legal, accounting, and taxation aspects.
• Proficient communication skills in both Dutch and English, both written and verbal.

Candidates who require any form of visa sponsorship or relocation support will NOT be considered for this position. To be considered for this position candidates must live in commuting distance of the office in the Rotterdam area and qualify to work under a Dutch employment contract, either via EU citizenship or a permanent EU work permit.
