The position

Page Executive has been given the exclusive assignment to recruit a Group Treasurer for our client Van Leeuwen, a globally operating trading company and specialist in steel pipes and pipe and tube applications.

As a Group Treasurer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategic cash management objectives and funding strategies. Joining the Group Finance Team, you'll provide valuable input into the formulation of the company's medium- and long-term strategy, policies, and overall success. Reporting directly to the Group CFO, you'll serve as a critical business partner, advising group leadership and management of the operating companies.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Enhance and optimize daily cash management and group cash management structure.
• Spearhead the implementation of a treasury system, promoting automation and innovation.
• Foster strong relationships with various departments and stakeholders, enhancing the central treasury function.
• Provide expert counsel on treasury transactions, funding strategies, credit insurance, and working capital solutions.
• Manage foreign exchange and commodity exposures, implementing an FX trading platform, and continually evaluating hedging policies.
• Act as the primary liaison for banks, credit insurers, insurance brokers and other external stakeholders.
• Contribute to value growth through innovative financing solutions, funding optimization, and working capital management.
• Lead negotiations for transaction terms and loan documentation.
• Exercise control, development, and reporting of treasury policies and procedures.
• Provide ad-hoc analyses and decision support.
• Participate in and/or lead special projects as assigned.

Candidate profile

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance or similar.

• Approximately 10 years of experience in an international treasury role within an industrial environment or trading company.
• Demonstrated track record of developing and executing treasury strategies that yield tangible results.
• Strong knowledge of financial and derivative markets, coupled with extensive experience in treasury products and core treasury processes.
• Sound understanding of corporate finance principles and practical application.
• Proficiency in relevant legal, accounting, and taxation aspects.
• Proficient communication skills in both Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
• To be considered for this position candidates must live in commuting distance of the office in the Zwijndrecht and qualify to work under a Dutch employment contract, either via EU citizenship or a permanent EU work permit.
