The position

• To financially evaluate strategy and to support management (in particular the Chief Schools Officer and his leadership team) and the board in making strategic decisions which have a sound financial basis
• To develop, implement and manage all areas of financial planning and analysis, particularly the planning (including budgeting), forecasting and results cycle
• To control and develop financial management globally including decision making support and establishment and maintenance of fees and the fee structure
• Articulate organizations strategic planning in financial terms and support management and the board the strategic decision making process
• Lead organizations financial management reporting, planning and analysis throughout the world in order to give financial transparency to the community
• Ensure the strong Financial Stewardship principles are adhered to within the divisions
• Ensure all submissions to the Investment and Innovation Committee have had substantive due diligence, not only financially but also from an Enterprise wide impact assessment
• Lead finance front office initiatives, including financial analysis and operational decision making support processes in order to ensure consistency and sharing of best practices across the world
• Lead the fee setting process and ensure that fee structure is fit for purpose
• Play a key role in the global finance team to realise the finance vision in order to keep finance functions ‘fit for purpose’ for short, medium and long term horizons, particular providing “finance” leadership within the office
• Deputise for FD on occasions in order to maintain development and flow of financial function

Candidate profile

• University and completed professional finance qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA) 
• 5 Years + in an international role 
• 5 Years + in the leadership of an operational / commercial accounting function 
• 3 substantial roles post qualification, showing upward progression 
• Experience of Education industry preferred 
• Developed and enhanced planning and analysis procedures within a global environment, including reporting, budgeting, modelling, KPI’s 
• Accustomed to working with Oracle or similar accounting platform 
• Highly analytical, with demonstrable knowledge and aptitude in applying advanced analytical tools 
• Ability to lead decision making with external internal customers (Directors and Managers) 
• Excellent communication, partnership and teambuilding skills 
• International mind set 
• Experienced people manager with demonstrable leadership qualities
