The organisation

The organisation offers a professional asset management services to investors, including asset selection, portfolio management and fund administration. The hold an AIFMD license and is regulated by the Dutch Central Bank and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets. The investor base includes institutional investors, development banks, governments, NGOs, and retail banks, all of whom seek to combine both financial returns with social/environmental impact.

The position

For an international impact focused investment fund manager with a global portfolio, we are looking for a Head of Risk & Control. Focus on managing and advising several funds in the area of financial inclusion, SME finance, affordable housing, renewable energy and agri.

• The purpose of the Risk Management Framework is to support the institution's growth ambition while safeguarding its long term sustainability
• Focus on risk governance frameworks and setting up and monitoring risk policies and procedures.
• As Head of Risk & Control, you will manage the Risk & Control Department, consisting of four other staff members dedicated to financial risk (including credit risk) and operational risk & control.
• The Head of Risk & Control reports to the Director Fund Services

Candidate profile

• At least 8 years of experience with risk management within the asset management industry
• Management skills, strong team lead
• Knowledge of the AIFM Directive, additional MiFID knowledge is a pre
• Experience with risk governance frameworks and with setting up and monitoring risk policies and procedures
• Knowhow of investments in emerging markets
• Involvement in establishment and implementation of control framework, both business control as well as operational control (ISAE 3402)
• Capability to report and advise to the Executive Board and Supervisory Board
• Self-starter, strong personality, flexible and ability to work independently
• Strong stakeholder management skills (contact with investors)
• Relevant university degree
• Good communication skills, fluency in English both orally and in writing. Additionally, Dutch language skills are considered an advantage for this role
