Profile

  • University degree in business economics/accounting preferably rounded off with a Dutch CPA-degree (RA or possibly RC)
  • Has a successful track record of at least 15 working years at medium and or senior management level in auditing, controlling, treasury and financial management in a big-4 auditing firm followed by experience in a (preferably) privately held industrial environment with a heavy assets base (capital intensive) which is dealing in a global commodity market; most recently as Finance Director/CFO of a EUR 250-500m revenue stand alone business &/or division. Some experience familiar with private/family ownership
  • Most likely industry background in the industrial petro-chemical, metals, mining &/or commodities area
  • Technically excellent in financial control and reporting, sound in risk, tax and treasury management
  • Experience of international finance and accounting standards, tax regimes, currency management. Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions and due diligence could be advantageous
  • Has been involved in strategy and business development at an international scale
  • Leadership role in identifying and realising operational improvement opportunities and hands-on experience in restructuring, working closely with the operational line managers
  • Ideally, used to operate in a private equity environment, where reliable and tight cash management is an absolute requirement
  • Familiar with Dutch (and ideally German) GAAP, IFRS to include IFRS 39
  • Directly in charge of balance sheet optimisation
  • Experience with merger and acquisition activities and subsequent integration
  • Has carried responsibility for tax, treasury and the ICT function in an international environment
  • Fluent command of Dutch and English (and ideally German) and willing to travel occasionally as required
