Interim Finance Director Europe

Our client is a global player in the FMCG sector.

The position

In this role, you will report to and closely collaborate with the Executive Committee (ExCo). The assignment is set to start as soon as possible and is expected to last approximately one year.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Director (FD) for the European operations. The FD Europe will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for leading the financial strategy and operations across Europe and work in close collaboration with the President Europe. This role is crucial in driving the financial performance and strategic initiatives that support the growth objectives.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional and global leadership to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
• Develop and execute the financial strategy for the European region, aligning with the overall corporate strategy.
• Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Work closely with the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team to provide insightful and actionable financial reporting and analysis.
• Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with financial regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across multiple countries, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
• Support M&A activities and integration efforts within the region.

Candidate profile

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within a multinational corporation and preferably within FMCG.
• Proven experience as a CFO/ FD or similar senior finance executive, with a track record of success in a regional or global role.
• Strong understanding of financial management, corporate finance, and financial analysis.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience leading diverse and geographically dispersed teams.
• Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to travel within the region as required.
• To stimulate diversity within the team, having a non-Dutch background is a plus
