The position
The Senior Private Equity Professional will play a pivotal role in sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments within the family office’s portfolio. This individual must possess an entrepreneurial mindset, with a hands-on and streetsmart personality, demonstrating a pro-active and self-starter approach to drive value across investments while going the extra mile to achieve results.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Investment Sourcing and Analysis:
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential private equity investment opportunities tailored to the family office's strategic objectives.
- Conduct in-depth due diligence, including financial modeling, market analysis, and operational evaluations to support investment recommendations.
- Deal Execution:
- Lead negotiations, structure investment terms, and work closely with legal advisors to finalize agreements.
- Oversee the investment process from sourcing to closing, ensuring alignment with the family's values and investment philosophy.
- Portfolio Management:
- Monitor portfolio company performance, providing strategic guidance and identifying areas for growth and improvement.
- Actively drive initiatives for value creation, preparing for potential exits, and maximizing returns on investments.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including management teams of portfolio companies and industry experts.
- Prepare and present investment insights, reports, and strategic recommendations to the family and investment committee.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and lead junior investment professionals, fostering a collaborative team culture and promoting knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the development of the family's investment strategy and ensure alignment across all investment activities.
Candidate profile
- 7+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting, preferably within a family office or similar investment environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Proven track record of leading successful investments and adding value to portfolio companies.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of valuation methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
