Project Manager – Risk Assurance Transformation & Internal Control

The position

The Project Manager – Risk & Assurance Transformation is responsible for delivering transformation projects and their parts in the Enterprise Risk Management process across the VimpelCom Group, which is aimed at supporting the delivery of VimpelCom strategic objectives while providing risk assurance. The position will be responsible for managing and delivering on projects in the ERM area such as:

• Alignment of risk assurance roadmaps,
• Development of integrated risk universe database,
• In-country implementation of process based risk management methodology and
• Implementation of integrated risk management tool.
• Assessment of risk assurance functions maturity levels

In this position you will report to the Director Risk Assurance Transformation – Risk Management and Internal Control Department: Accounting, Reporting and Control.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Risk Management projects design, planning and implementation
  • Alignment of risk assurance roadmaps,
  • Development of integrated risk universe database,
  • In-country implementation of process based risk management methodology and
  • Implementation of integrated risk management tool.
  • Assessment of risk assurance functions maturity levels
  • Deliver communication and change management plan
  • Assist in the preparation of the required status project reports on a timely manner
  • Provide training and share best practices with key contacts within countries and head office function on Risk Management project topics

• Risk Management function development task delivery
  • Delivering on specific tasks in the development of a VimpelCom risk process model and methodology to identify risks which impact our business processes, the risks inherent in these processes, and where we would anticipate activities in the process to manage these risks
  • As a result embedding the risk and control thinking into the organizational culture and achievement of a control environment where more reliance is placed on the assurance provided by business owners and less from assurance functions

• Internal Controls
  • Working together with Internal controls department to achieve alignment with other risk assurance functions. Through task delivery ensure leverage of Internal control activities in other areas

Candidate profile

• Education at University Master level (RO, RC, MBA or other)
• At least 5-8 years of total work experience, minimum of 2 years telecom experience (preferably Big Four or similar or Telco)
• Minimum 5 years of previous work experience in business analysis, auditing, advisory, risk management or internal control; system background (Bwise) is a plus
• Proven technical/management background in Risk Management
• Experience in managing in a virtual international environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to translate complex business information into consolidated comprehensive reports.=
• Willingness to travel
