Senior Business Controller

Senior Business Controller for the strategic financial hart of a medium sized International Bank. In this role you are the sparringpartner for the Board and senior International Management. The position

We are looking for for an ambitious and enthusiastic Senior Business Controller to strengthen one of the Wholesale teams within Global Business Control especially the Wholesale Clients International and the Professional Products team. The Senior Business Controller will focus on one of those business lines within the global organisation. Excellent and effective communication to the business as well as senior management is considered as a key element.

Tasks & Responsibilties

• Development of the Control RI strategy and translation of the strategy and objectives into financial management accounting/control standards and procedures
• Initiation, implementation and coordination of the planning and control cycle and the preparation of the overall budgets/forecasts
• Providing advice on business proposals and business plans discussed in the global MT’s
• Participation in wide control topics e.g. Balance Sheet Management, Liquidity and Product Approval and Bis III
• Relationship management regarding the spectrum of internal and external relationships e.g. heads of the business units, senior management within CFRO and Finance/Tax domains, regional controllers in the worldwide network

Candidate profile

• Holistic view on the complexity of a wholesale bank; its P/L and balance sheet drivers, Capital and Raroc
• Highly intelligent, with a broad-based financial experience and a sophisticated knowledge an understanding of complex financial transactions and corporate governance
• Knowledge of management accounting and performance measurement
• Good writing skills
• Excellent social, verbal and communicative skills (in English and Dutch) that are effective at varying levels of the organization
• Strong analytical skills and conceptualization skills; • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in getting problems and issues solved on the basis of results oriented consensus building
• Possesses excellent judgement and the accompanying confidence to make decisions under pressure in a very timely way
• Project management skills Education: University degree in Business Economics or Business Administration
