The organisation

For our client we are looking for a Senior Financial Director International. Our client is an international fast growing organization operating in medical devices industry. With a revenue of more than $ 800 million, including sales in over 30 countries, and employs more than 1600 people globally.

As a Senior Financial Director International you will be responsible for directing all the finance and accounting activities for the International business with a focus on the EMEA, APAC & Latin America regions. In this role you will be a valued business partner to the Executive Vice President International and a key member of the international executive team.

The position 

As a Senior Financial Director International you are responsible for the oversight and review of all accounting related activities and consolidation of the financial results for the international subsidiaries.

You plan and direct accounting and finance activities for the International business to ensure all transactions are recorded properly and that assets of the company are safeguarded. Besides that you plan and direct financial reporting activities to ensure that accurate and timely information is available to senior management for decision-making and operation of the company.

In your role as Senior Financial Director International you analyze and understand sales trends as well as applying revenue recognition principles. You assist all departments with forecasting tools to ensure accuracy.

You provide updated monthly financial forecasts and reviews operating results and compare results to expectations. Analyze complex financial scenarios and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action are parts of your tasks. You analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance.

The Senior Financial Director International designs, creates, and implements complex financial models and business cases, identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly and establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts. 

You make recommendations to senior management regarding cost savings or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies and coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans and operating forecast.

Besides that you carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws in a matrix environment. Your responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, motivating, rewarding and disciplining employees.

Finally you will address complaints and resolving problems.

You will based in Amsterdam but there is approximately 20% international travelling involved.

Candidate profile 

As a Senior Financial Director you have an University degree in Accountancy / Business Economics or comparable. You have 10+ years of experience within (ideally) an international operating American company.

You have the ability to write business reports, correspondence and highly proficient in complex analytical calculations. You are a strong communicator and speak effectively in front of groups of customers, employees, and the management of organizations. As a professional you have proven building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties. 

You are a ‘go getter’, get things organised and have the ability the manage multiple projects at the same time. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. You got the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

You are a dedicated Director with an energetic approach, confident and mature. It is imperative that you have developed good analytical skills and are accurate. Above all you are down to earth with good sense of humour.

To succeed you need a firm finance background in overseeing all Accounting & Finance within an international organization and a strong track record as a Business Partner. You have to be able to manage a team around the world or at least within EMEA and yo have passion for the products and feel connected with the mission and vision. You have proficient communication skills: fluent English.
