Senior Internal Auditor

The organisation

For a Leading International Insurance Company, Robert Walters is searching for a Senior Internal Auditor. As an Internal Auditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance, identifying risks, and providing valuable insights to improve our company's operations.

The position

• Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial and operational controls, compliance with policies and regulations, and adherence to industry best practices.
• Develop and implement audit plans, including risk assessments, audit objectives, and detailed audit procedures.
• Evaluate internal processes and systems to identify potential areas of improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Perform detailed testing of financial transactions, records, and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports with clear findings, recommendations, and action plans to address identified issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to follow up on audit findings, monitor implementation of recommendations, and track progress.
• Stay updated on relevant regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging risks in the insurance sector.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on internal control processes and risk management practices.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in internal audit, preferably within the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of insurance products, processes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent understanding of risk assessment methodologies, control frameworks, and internal audit practices.
• Proficient in using audit software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) will be considered a plus.
• Exceptional analytical skills with an attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
