The organisation

I am currently looking for an experienced Team leader Client Accountant for an international company located in Amsterdam. The open position is within the client accounting team and it is your responsibility to effectively manage the Client Accounting team within the Netherlands and ensuring that high quality service is provided to the firm’s clients. My client provides wealth protection and support services to private clients, corporate clients and funds.

The position

You are responsible for the client accounting team and you will define the scope of work activities required to fully deliver the bookkeeping and accounting work for the firm’s clients and delegate the work within your team in order to ensure accurate and timely delivery is made. You are responsible for managing annual accounts for Dutch entities along with coordinating of IFRS annual accounts for client group structures. Managing the financial performance of your team’s output against KPI’s and setting goals and targets for your team and holding annual appraisals. Research new developments in legislation and other practices relevant to work area and ensure that technical advice is in place and any changes are implemented on a timely basis to ensure ongoing compliance with statutory and other requirements. Manage systems and processes used within the Client Accounting function, identifying efficiencies and improvements where appropriate and maintaining procedures accordingly, escalating matters as appropriate.

Candidate profile

You are a leader with excellent communication skills and are self-motivated, organised, time management skills and you are able to ensure your team members are motivated. You are able to plan and organise for short, medium and long term activities. You are a strategist and can adopt to and thrive in a fast paced environment. It is essential that you have in depth knowledge of IFRS, Dutch GAAP knowledge and consolidation skills. Have a proven track record of successfully being team lead/managing a team. You possess a deep understanding of relevant tax legislation and demonstrate an understanding of future tax changes when they arise. You have an understanding of external regulations and legislation and of internal policies and procedures including AML risk ratings, cash flow monitoring and signing limits. You ideally have:

• A degree as Register Accountant (RA)
• Industry relevant qualification
• Excellent IT skills
• Maintain good business practices and interpersonal skills, overseeing more junior staff in the management of their time and workloads.

Working within an organization that is diverse, inclusive, international and a challenging but rewarding environment. The gross salary is between €100,000 and €120,000 and based off of a 40 hour work week.
