Headquartered in Oberkotzau, Bavaria, Gamma operates nationwide in Germany through a reseller network of over 1,000 partners. Through its Epsilon brand, Gamma is also a large B2B mobile distributor in Germany, offering mobile connections from all three major mobile network operators.

VozTelecom is a cloud communications service provider in Spain, primarily focused on the SME market. Headquartered in Barcelona, with offices in Sevilla and Tétouan (Morocco), VozTelecom is one of the leading SIP Trunk and Cloud PBX providers, offering fixed and mobile communications bundled with Internet access.

Gamma Communications Nederland (formerly Dean One and gnTel), is a telecom operator and Internet provider supplying hosted VoIP solutions, mobile and broadband services via 900+ channel partners to SMEs in the Benelux region. Other Dutch business units are Nimsys, an ICT specialist for workspaces and multi-tenancy buildings as well as Schiphol Connect, the telecom and Internet provider at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.

Gamma Benelux, Germany and Spain is a rapidly growing organization with a clear strategy and ambitious objectives. Their slogan Working Smarter, Together forms the basis of the open and personal culture. The Head of People Business Partner reports directly to the CEO Gamma Benelux and works closely with the management team and People BPs of sister companies across Europe.

The Head of People Business Partner leads the People team, which also consists of a People Officer and an Office Manager. They take care of the administrative People processes.

The position

The role has a dual focus: whilst being the key People leadership role for Gamma Benelux, it will also be a Group leadership role in the People team, taking responsibility for the direct leadership and development of a group of international People Business Partners in the UK, Spain and Germany. In this capacity, he or she will be responsible for setting a common framework of delivery for this group and should have the seniority and impact to gain the respect and cooperation of this team. Key result areas will be developing shared approach, and capability across (amongst other things).

Performance Management, Succession Planning and Talent, Managing Change, and Coaching. In Gamma Benelux, the role is also dual in focus: on the one hand, it is a tactical role which is “in the middle of the operation” and of which the operational, daily work is part. Therefore, candidates must have a practical approach and must think in terms of both solutions and practical applications.

On the other hand, it is also highly strategic in focus, supporting business change, and policy development which will have a longer-term focus. The People Business Partner is also a vital and proactive sparring partner and sounding board for the management team and managers.

He or she identifies and actively contribute ideas about developments and the integrated approach to business issues. He or she will have to contribute with conviction to the changes within the organization and maintain the course. Not wanting everything at once but wanting to have an emphatic role with a clear vision of the profession.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Sparring partner and sounding board for the management team, Gamma’s CPO, local department managers, and HR colleagues.
  • A preconditional, advisory and pioneering role in the development and embedding of modern HR policy and participating in the process of organizational and personnel development and change management.
  • Contribute to an integrated approach to organizational issues.
  • Actively identify and contribute ideas about strategic developments and translate these into the organization. Quickly recognize the HR processes in the organization (at strategic, tactical, and operational level), indicate the bottlenecks and translate this into advice. Substantiate the policy with a clear cost/benefit analysis (business economics);
  • Enthusing and coaching HR colleagues.
  • Inspire and ensure an effective and efficient People department.
  • Solicited and unsolicited advice and support to management in the implementation of HR policy.
  • Point of contact for HR suppliers such as company doctor, insurance, and pensions.

Candidate profile

This is an excellent position for an HR professional who is ready for his or her third career step. To perform this job successfully, he or she must be able to oversee the full scope, engage with all organizational layers and individually make balanced judgements in line with vision of Gamma and the rest of the MT.

  • A Bachelor degree in the field of HRM and/or Business Administration is a must;
  • At least five years of experience as an HR Business Partner/HR Advisor in the field of operational and tactical HR consultancy;
  • Preferably gained this experience within a result-oriented, enterprising and preferably technical company. Experience within a small and/or medium-sized company is also a plus;
  • Some sound international experience and expertise;
  • Experience of leading and developing a team of senior HR professionals and developing a shared approach to business challenges;
  • Fresh view of the field and with an eye for the process;
  • Knowledge and insight into other fields and processes, insight into organizational development and change processes;
  • Adapt easily to different settings and cultures within the organization;
  • Hands-on mentality, and act as an innovative and creative professional;
  • A determined approach that also allows influence of others and move toward a common vision or goal;
  • An open, agile mind and is always thinking in solutions;
  • Trusted advisor for management combined with an empathetic personality with persuasiveness and decisiveness;
  • Spontaneous colleague with good, clear and friendly communication skills;
  • Excellent Dutch and English language in word and writing.
