The organisation

Our client is one of the world's major sports footwear organisation with his headquarters in the US.

The position

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to provide operational and strategic generalist HR support to the Direct to Consumer business with the aim of building a high performing, highly engaged organisation. Provide support to the local leadership team in building the organisation of the future.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Provide generalist HR support for the office in Amsterdam, the Wholesale business in Leusden and Retail stores in remit
  • Develop local HR policy and procedures, within regional and global parameters and ensure consistency in application, engagement and practice
  • Utilise employment law knowledge to meet business needs and ensuring consistent, fair and accurate application
  • Develop programmes to enhance employee relations and associate engagement
  • Manage recruitment and selection from initial requirement planning through to on-boarding in line with company policy and procedures. Work with Talent Acquisition to hire the best talent in a timely manner
  • Manage the ongoing People Pay Performance process
  • Encourage and develop a culture of learning and development
  • Ensure learning and development requirements are correctly identified and actioned in relation to business needs (design, develop and lead training programmes for local team where necessary)
  • Manage internal communications locally
  • Act as a change agent in managing organisational changes
  • Ensure competitive and fair compensation levels in line with company C&B strategy and market positioning
  • Become a local expert for Workday and ensure appropriate Management Information is available when required
  • Provide coaching and training to Line Managers and Associates on people related matters
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with wider HR team, local/regional/global stakeholders and external partners
  • Champion community connection and well-being activities
  • Role model for their values and behaviours, ambassador for the HR function and able to bring new associates into our culture
  • Undertake HR projects as needed
  • Improve processes and procedures across the HR function

Candidate profile

  • At least 5 years relevant HR experience at HR Manager level
  • Experience of recruitment, Learning & Development, internal communications, employee relations, employee benefits, developing policy and procedure, exposure to payroll
  • Retail experience is desirable
  • High level of Dutch employment law knowledge
  • Experience of working in a matrixed organisation and comfortable with working in a stand alone role in country with support from regional HQ
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, influencing skills at all levels across the business
  • Decision maker – solutions focused and takes accountability for decisions made
  • Proactive self starter, assertive, resilient and tenacious
  • Highest levels of integrity and professional credibility
  • Energy, drive, positive outlook and willing to take on new challenges
  • Experience of working with a HRIS system – Workday is desirable
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office
  • Team player
