HR manager (International - Industry - Full time)

The Manager Human Resources formulates and, after approval is obtained, implements HR policy within the company to ensure high HR related standards.

Manager Human Resources is responsible for the quality and the organization of the HR department and shall follow company policies and adhere to company regulations.

Through active leadership, Manager Human Resources shall delegate tasks to his/her subordinates and, based on results, provide feedback on the quality of the work performed.

Manager Human Resources shall actively contribute towards the overall goals of the company, and shall promote cooperation in all matters of personnel, such as recruitment, career development, salary & benefits, competence and leadership.

The Manager HR reports to the Managing Director of the BU in Rotterdam and will have a functional relation with the Manager HR of the holding company.

The HR organization consists of the following professionals:

  • Personnel Officer (3)
  • Personnel Administrator (2)
  • Salary Administrator (1)
  • Department assistant (1)

The BU has in total 300 employees.

Tasks and Responsibilities 

  • Organize and co-ordinate HR activities
  • Ensure HR policy is in compliance with Dutch law and company regulations, including Employee Handbook 
  • Familiar with current trends and developments in HR to translate these into HR policy and company regulations
  • Responsible for development of competence-management to ensure well qualified personnel
  • Coach, inform and support managers and employees, as and when required on HR and Dutch labor law related matters
  • Provide complete overview of all HR related monthly developments of personnel
  • Ensure an updated overview of organization charts
  • Ensure that all personnel is informed about current HR policy, business regulations (like safety and environment matters) and job/employment related responsibilities (annual assessment interviews, performance reviews, job descriptions (HAY/Bakkenist) etc)
  • Take care of the pension regulations
  • Organize and manage HR department in working processes and development of its professionalism
  • HR related projects (currently SAP HR, including absence, salaries, benefits and welfare, competence and training, recruitment, performance appraisals and termination)
  • Set up, obtainment of approval and management of HR budget

Profile of the ideal Candidate/Qualifications

  • BSc HR studies
  • Knowledge of Dutch labor law and developments in national labor market
  • 3-5 years experience as a successful Manager HR within an international work environment, preferably in the industry (preferred age 35-40 yrs)
  • SAP HR experience is a plus
  • Excellent intermediary for internal and external representatives
  • Experience as a lead person in projects and a proven track record for motivating and team building 
  • Ability to optimize and streamline business processes within HR
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Excellent negotiating and relationship management
  • Budgeting and financial management skills
  • Languages: Dutch + English fluently
