Our client is a leading energy company in the Netherlands, based in the beautiful city of 's-Hertogenbosch. The customer-oriented organization has a strong focus on renewable energies. As a consequence, it is the largest producer of renewable energy in the Netherlands.

The organization employs over 2.500 employees and is characterized by its open and innovative culture.

The position

The Director IT provides technological vision and leadership in the development and implementation of effective strategies to support the organization's mission, goals and business strategies. He or she has a collaborative mindset and is a strategic and trusted partner of the Board and the business. The Director IT ensures a highly available and secure IT landscape, while also introducing new innovative IT technologies.

Candidate profile

For this position, we are looking for an excellent interpersonal communicator with the ability to motivate people and build consensus across groups of people. A change agent who can lead diverse groups across the organization in implementing new programs and ideas, inspiring others and both present and defend ideas in a business-friendly/user-friendly language. He or she has a passion for improving processes and systems and is always aiming for flawless alignment between Business and IT.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of line management experience as an IT leader managing teams to strategize, innovate, plan and implement;
• A proven track record as an effective leader in managing large teams/departments (75+);
• Experience with selecting, contracting and managing external vendors including leveraging offshore and nearshore concept;
• Deep experience in delivering projects with digital technology solutions involving digital transformation, customer journeys, data analytics, cyber security and robotization;
• Experienced and or certified in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe);
• Knowledge of key business processes (e.g. CRM, billing and invoicing) and experience with architectural concepts relevant in (an IT landscape of) a Utility company or a company with similar key business processes and equivalent IT landscape (for example Telecom and Insurance);
• International experience is an advantage;
• Knowledge of the energy market is an advantage;
• Fluent in Dutch and English is required. The ability to speak German is a strong advantage;
• Academic or equivalent education, in information technology or a related area of expertise.
