The organisation

Our client offers a portfolio of imagery and information products charting the public external world, based on a unique and patented complete end-to-end solution for imagery collection, automated data processing and cloud based hosting of geo–referenced imagery, as well as develop tools for creating and distributing applications that benefit from this data. In comparison to popular consumer products, the imagery is highly precise, covers complete geographic area's and is always very recent.

With 30-years’ experience in developing street-level recordings with GIS accuracy, their technology creates parallax-free imagery with highly accurate positioning details. Their technology is widely used in government GIS, tax assessment, asset management, public safety and security markets, as well as in construction, infrastructure management, and insurance verticals in the corporate market. Our client is the only player with proven ability to systematically capture, process and serve accurately geo-referenced imagery on a nationwide scale using an integrated system covering the entire production chain.

In order to further professionalize that production chain, our client is looking to extend their Core Leadership Team with a Director Operations – based at their HQ in greater Utrecht area, the Netherlands - ensuring a cost-effective and value-adding delivery of the ready-made solutions throughout Europe and North America.

The position

Reporting directly to the CEO of the organization, the Director Operations will create and maintain world-class performance in information management and operations. In order to achieve this, you will:

• Manage the strategic planning process (aggregate production and resource planning)
• Manage effective and efficient information flow and availability through IT architecture and systems management
• Drive operational excellence (through standardization of best practices and development of systematic processes)
• Manage resource availability (through Supply Chain Management and Service processes
• Effectively establish a paradigm shift in Operations, from hardware management to information management and customer satisfaction
• Translate the principle (leading) concept of Information Architecture into primary / operational processes, covering the entire ecosystem of data collection, processing and hosting as well as distribution of images and data

Candidate profile

• You have a Master in Computer Science or comparable, with 10-15 years of experience
• You gained relevant experience as IT Manager / Operations manager in a business focusing on Content - or Software - as a Service in a B2B environment with implementation and release management of core-IT processes and you have been leading large teams to success
• You build your experience in organizations where IT is seen as core process (e.g. bank, insurance, travel, mail-order)
• You are fluent in English and preferable Dutch and German
• You have a high energy level, pro-active, a natural leader and a good motivator
• Your environment recognizes you as a decision-maker and a bridge-builder
• You think in processes and have a hands-on mentality
• High customer satisfaction and delivering high quality standards are common to you
