Interim Python Developer/Expert

The organisation

For an international bank in Amsterdam we are looking for an Interim Python Developer/Expert. Do you have strong Python experience, can you interpret VBA scripts and do you have experience in Risk Management? Keep on reading!

The position

The role is part of the Trade Risk Management department, responsible for mitigating risk for trade activities. You will play a key role in transforming the business into a data-driven environment and will grow a platform team to build a solution that empowers risk managers and to nurture better analysis.

You will be part of the Engineering team. Stability, predictability and transparency are of key importance for everything we do. You will develop features and insight solutions for the various risk management processes. By working closely together with our international teams you help transferring this service into a global service where automation, AI and a scientific approach are important.

Tasks & responsibilities

Your key responsibilities:

• Lead risk management automation projects
• Convert excel spreadsheets with macros into python scripts,
• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues,
• Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience,
• Deploy updates and fixes and provide technical support

Candidate profile

You are passionate about coding, cloud infrastructure and next to automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery, automated testing and configuration management. You're always looking to improve the services and aware of what the market is doing to see where we can improve even further.
* Strong Python work experience,
o Have experience with Numpy & Pandas
o Understand core Python concepts
o Testing
* Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and SQL,
* Ability to interpret VBA scripts
* Experience with agile way of working and scrum,
* Knowledge of Financial products and Risk Management is a must,
o You need to have a wide exposure to various business processes in the area
o Understand concepts behind pricing / valuation
* Fluent in English (written and verbal) and excellent communication skills.
* Experience leading projects

The offer

• Interim assignment on a ZZP basis
• Start date is ASAP, no later than February 1
• Contract 6 to 12 months, possibility of an extension
• Engagement is full-time, part-time is negotiable
• Location is hybrid
