Lead ETL Developer

The organisation

The position

This international bank is one of the largest ranked Financial Groups in the world in terms of assets with over 180,000 employees and a presence in 50 markets. In Amsterdam the HQ for the European branche is located.

Currently they are building a new team to accumulate and process bank's information for both reporting to regulators and supporting internal business processes. In this role as Lead ETL Developer you will act both as manager of the team of ETL Developers and act as a technical expert in ETL.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Outline the ETL process, set standards and do quality control;
• Lead the code review and collaborate with internal parties to align priorities, deliverables and timelines;
• Serve as the interface between IT Management and the ETL Development team;
• Act as technical expert in the design, coding, testing, supporting and debugging of new enhancements;
• Troubleshoot and debug ETL;
• Write technical documentation and specifications and create a solution following SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
• In the end you will be responsible for the team who manages the DWH Platform. You will have a 'chapter lead' kind of role.

Candidate profile

• Proven work experience as an ETL Developer;
• Exepert level of Microsoft SQL Services and Technologies (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and SQL Server);
• >5 years experience in SQL; Strong SQL scripting Knowlegde; able to create SQL Queries;
• Working knowlegde of one scripting language (Python, Perl or Bash);
• Knowlegde of Relational Databases;
• Agile practices and CI/CD knowlegde;
• Experience with Bamboo, Jira and Snowflake;
• A hands-on mentality and a good communicator to team and stakeholders;
• Fluent in English verbal and written.
