The organisation

Stater provides mortgage services and platforms for external lenders. This makes the company an ideal outsourcing partner, both in the Netherlands as well as internationally. Stater wants consumers in the mortgage market to take out and manage their mortgage safely, quickly and without any problems. The complete process: from orientation on a mortgage up to including its termination and everything that takes place in between. Stater currently does this for more than 40 lenders. In the Netherlands, Stater is the market leader in mortgage services. Since 2019, Stater has been part of one of the largest and best IT-BPO companies in the world, www.infosys.com. ABN AMRO is also still a small shareholder. Together with these two shareholders, Stater combines banking knowledge with IT expertise.

Infosys is the largest shareholder (75%) of Stater and an international player in the field of digital services. Their Core Business is Business Process Management (BPM) and Information Technology (IT). Headquartered in India, the company has more than 220,000 employees. After the lender or the bank has provided the mortgage, Stater takes care of the entire back office. This is an important fact for both the lender and the consumer.

The Stater Board consists of Erwin Dreuning (CEO), Arnoud Kuiper (CFRO), Mario Menheere (MD Netherlands), Thomas Bardram (MD Belgium), Arjan Hessels (MD New Business & Innovation) and Erik Hamoen (CTO). The management is responsible for all of Stater's activities in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

The position

The Manager Product Owners (hereafter: MPO) works within the IT Business Unit (approximately 500 FTE). He/she is responsible for the IT department of Stater together with five ICT colleague Managers. This means, among other things, the run of the entire critical infrastructure, information security, data intelligence, privacy/AVG, the design and implementation of project selection, coordination and realization within the own change portfolio based on the frameworks set within Stater's governance.

He/she is accountable for end-to-end performance within the portfolio and, together with the relevant Manager, is authorized to make decisions. The starting point is always that the performance of the change portfolio is in line with the change objectives of Stater and its clients. As a MPO, the candidate in this position makes an essential and guiding contribution to Stater's further IT strategy.

The MPO is also responsible for the management and development of his or her employees (approximately 50-60 FTE). These include among others the Product Owners. These professionals work at the intersection of customer, business and IT processes, such as changes in work and customer processes, system adjustments and implementations. A Product Owner is responsible for keeping the assigned parts of the IT landscape stable, future-proof and secure and for realizing and implementing the change for the customers.

Of course within the available change budget. This is performed using prioritized user stories on the prioritized product back log of the relevant scrum teams. He/she understands better than anyone that this is a dynamic process and therefore subject to constant change.

At this moment there are three vacancies within the department:

• MPO small clients;
• MPO large clients;
• MPO Backoffice and legislation.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Own and redesign the product vision and roadmap;
• Own end to end product life cycle right from conceptualization till post-delivery activities;
• Manage the team of product owners;
• Research and identify stakeholder needs and effectively manage stakeholder expectations;
• Manage proactive a backlog of new features and enhancements for the product;
• Define and monitor key KPI’s for the product;
• Work closely with an engineering team to build and operate the product;
• Analyze, understand and share learnings to build a strong knowledge base of the product.

Candidate profile

What you’ll bring:

• At least 5 to 7 years of product technology management experience on high traffic systems and systems in preferably the financial services environment;
• Strong technical understanding;
• Proven track record in translating and implementing business strategy into successful digital products;
• Customer focused and solving user problems obsessed;
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies;
• Experience making data-driven decisions;
• Very strong communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to manage priorities in time sensitive situations;
• Experience in leading and managing a team would be preferred;
• Experience in change management and IT transformation.
