International Legal Counsel

The organisation 

Our client is a US manufacturing company specialising in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of labelling and functional materials. The company employs approximately 30.000 employees in more than 50 countries. 

The position

In this position you will report to the senior Group Counsel who leads the legal team for EMEA. You will manage a full range of legal services to commercial and operations functions throughout Western and Eastern Europe, Middle East and portions of Africa. The successful candidate will be able to handle a wide range of legal work, including day-to-day legal matters and legal projects. You will have a practical business-oriented approach and will be highly collaborative and a strong values and ethics leader.

Candidate profile

A qualified lawyer with at least 5-8 years of experience. A member of the German, Belgian or French bar is a plus. You have experience within a law firm and as an in-house lawyer and you have demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and a diverse range of stakeholders. Knowledge in German and or French law is a big plus (also knowledge of the French and/or German language). The Dutch language is not required for this role. You have strong communication skills, an international mindset and available on a full time basis (40 hours a week). You are ambitious, willing to get the job done and always aiming for the best results. Commercial contract and corporate law experience is required; litigation and M&A experience is a significant plus.
