The Organisation

Our client, a multinational offshore company, brings in generations of expertise in execution of large and complex projects. They provide worldwide support, from the conceptual design stage to engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning. 

The Position

• Prepare and review tender documents, and review and advise on contract terms and conditions of tenders;
• Prepare qualifications/clarifications to contract documents and advise/participate in follow-up;
• Identify and advise on (potential) variations, claims and disputes and co-ordinate external legal/insurance advice in relation thereto, including follow-up;
• Arrange adequate insurance coverage for contracted work and/or planned resources in conjunction with the management;
• Arrange adequate insurance coverage for contracted work and or resources requested to perform the work in conjunction with management;
• Prepare, propose, draw up and inform all concerned parties about the renewed conditions of employment of one or more of the offices after approval by management;
• Maintain contacts with various governmental agencies, like departments of labour, immigration, embassies etc., in countries relevant to the company.
• Manage external advisors and be the intermediate between the external advisor and (project) management.

Candidate Profile

• LLM degree in Dutch or UK Civil Law, with a specialty in Fiscal, Insurance, Company and/or Contract Law preferred;
• Knowledge of UK law is considered an advantage;
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ as a Legal Counsel within an international environment, preferably in the offshore construction sector;
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken;
• Knowledge of/affinity with technical, tax and/or financial matters.
