Department Head Procurement
General description
Manage the department personnel.
Job objectives
To ensure that the employee and the department provide the best possible service to support the company, tenders and projects in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the contract and to work in the most efficient way.
Reporting lines
The Department Head reports to the Division Manager Operations.
General responsibilities
- Initiate and comply with all activities focused on meeting overall corporate objectives (mission statement) and Procurement departmental objectives.
- Familiarize and comply with the companies Quality, Safety and Environmental management system.
- Create a favourable working environment and assess needs requirements.
- Promote and support continuous improvement activities within the Procurement Department.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity.
- Select, review, evaluate and approve suppliers.
- Provide input for the development of control procedures
Job specific tasks
- Anticipate, design and/or assist with implementing new systems that enhance the effective-ness of the procurement, including office automation systems, cost control procedures etc.
- Coordinate and schedule activities of the Procurement Department Select, review, evaluate and approve suppliers and agents.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining management procedures.
- Liaise with relevant parties regarding material planning.
- Liaise with QC for inspection activities.
- Arrange expediting when required.
- Verify and approve payments.
- Provide input for development of control procedures.
- Identify problem areas and suggest improvements.
- Collect and file useful information.
- Be available to assist in Emergency Response actions upon request of the Emergency Res-ponse Teamleader.
- Provide guidance for employees in the Procurement Department
- Evaluates each employee of the Procurement department at least once a year,

Take all the measurements to optimize the functioning of the Procurement Department.
Education level and training
HBO
Experience
Minimum of 10 years relevant management experience in Offshore, Oil & Gas or similar branches.
