The position
In this role you have the opportunity to join our exciting and inspiring journey and help us supporting the drive within Domestic Appliances towards Operational Excellence and full compliancy through creation and deploying a single aligned strategy in Trade Compliance.
You are part of the Global Supply Chain organization for Domestic Appliances. Our organization is responsible for Sales and operations planning (S&OP), Order management, Warehousing and Distribution, Transport and Customer project management.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Ensuring that all auditable facilities and entities (i.e.: markets, factories) consistently operate in a state of compliance for inspection by external bodies or authorities
- Ensuring that all shipments from factories and suppliers to warehouses and customer consistently meet compliance requirements for inspection by external bodies or authorities.
- Ensuring that all processes, software and formal declarations on site or country level to authorities or international/external bodies are meeting trade compliance standards.
- Establishing the vision and strategy for Trade compliance management on systems, processes and practices to ensure consistent, standardized execution, and ensuring this vision is shared to all relevant stakeholders, incl oversight of implementation.
- Reducing the financial exposure of Philips originating from trade/compliancy problems
- Liaising with governmental and non-governmental bodies and agencies and global business partners on trade compliance
- Manages a strong core Trade Compliance team and drives common goals and objectives to result in improved customer experience, operational excellence & dedicated trade compliance
- Initiating, driving and running Global Trade Compliance improvement programs across Business and Markets.
- Communicating to and involving all the relevant departments and stakeholders (including senior management) within Philips DA, so that they are aware on progress of operations and transformations and so that there is a smooth cooperation between the different departments.
Candidate profile
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Business, Engineering, International Relations, Legal Studies or a related field
- 10+ years experience in Trade Compliance, preferably in consumer goods
- Expertise and hands on familiarity with EU and US import and export regulations
- Comprehensive understanding of core customs compliance areas including country of origin, valuation, and classification
- Shown ability to inform, communicate and influence on all levels of the company (Business leaders and Functional leaders as well as employees in markets, factories and functions)
- Experience identifying and solving complex operational and organizational problems, using the appropriate resources within or outside a Trade Compliance department
- Experience in Network Analysis and Modeling & Compliance and Fraud Risk.
- Experience in working with external customers, government agencies, industry trade groups, vendors, advisors
The offer

- Work as a contractor: max. salary: € 115.000 / year
- Work as a freelancer: max. hourly rate: € 100
