BU Director Trading and Distribution

The position

You will be responsible for overseeing and directing all trading and distribution activities within the BU and the organisation. You will lead a team of 25 brokers and buyers, develop and execute trading strategies, manage risk, and drive revenue growth. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to make strategic decisions that impact the company's bottom line.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive trading and distribution strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives and Continuously evaluate and adjust strategies based on market conditions.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate the team, providing guidance and support to ensure their success. Foster a collaborative and high-performance trading culture.
• Risk Management: Monitor and manage trading risk effectively, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
• Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, news, and events that may impact trading decisions. Utilize data and analytics to make informed trading choices.
• Financial Performance: Drive revenue growth and profitability by optimizing trading strategies and managing costs. Set and achieve performance targets for the trading division.
• Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that all trading activities adhere to industry regulations and compliance standards. Implement best practices for ethical trading.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to expand trading opportunities and enhance the company's reputation.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on trading performance and financial results to the executive team and board of directors.

Candidate profile

• University degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
• Proven track record of success in international trading roles, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership position
• Excellent knowledge of category- and supply chain management
• Understanding of IT hardware markets and trading and distribution
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities
• Driven and result-oriented
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive trading environment
• Fluent in English and preferably in Dutch
