CEO (contract research)

The organization

The Company is a Contract Research Organization group with locations in Germany and the Netherlands. The Company is primarily active in the areas of toxicology and bioanalytical (chemical and microbiological) services and is certified according to GLP and GMP. Revenue and EBITDA have increased significantly over the last years through organic and inorganic growth. Further buy-and-build, integration of the sites, and leveraging synergies are ongoing. The Company employs approximately 130 people and has an international client base.

Situation
The Company has been acquired by an investor in course of a corporate carve-out and grown through add-on acquisitions. To this point, the investor is managing the sites rather stand-alone and is looking for a CEO to reap the full benefits of a group structure and integrate the sites further. This potential is to be leveraged through strong sales initiatives (e.g. acquire customers of the German site for the Dutch site and vice versa) and drive cross-selling opportunities by managing key accounts across the group in the mid-term. Further buy-and-build with the support of the investor is planned.

The position

The CEO is end-responsible for the CRO group and the achievement of (financial) goals and the timely reporting thereof to the investor. Prime goals will be the overall growth, group-wide initiatives, and group integration. You will be located in the completely newly built Dutch laboratory, however, daily presence is not foreseen due to the strong focus on sales and business development (willingness to travel).

Candidate profile

• Experience in selling laboratory services (CRO/CDMO)
• Pharmaceutical/ Pharmaservices background
• PhD is a plus
• Seniority is required (minimum of 20-25 years of work experience years)
• Verifiable sales & business development expertise
• Social skills to lead a team of scientists
• Result-oriented and analytically strong
• English/German and/or Dutch is a plus
