The Organisation

Global food trading company, with offices in the Americas, Europe and Far East. The company works closely with their customers to meet their supply chain and quality assurance requirements by sourcing ingredients through its international network of food suppliers. Total turnover is around € 500 million. The group is headquartered in the Netherlands.

The Position

The Commercial Director develops and executes the unit budget and trade plans for the European market. Manages and supports the day to day trading activities. Manages and coaches the team members and identifies development needs, ensuring a well trained and motivated workforce.
Leads the worldwide commercial coordination between the business units, which a.o. includes coordination of market vision and prioritisation of positions and trade flows given the financial and risk limits of the company. The Commercial Director will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

The Requirements

• Approximately 10 years of experience in the dairy industry is required.
• Hands-on experience with trade, preferably in the food business.
• Strong proven management/leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to operate on CxO level.
• International work experience is a plus.
• Fluent in English is mandatory, knowledge of any other language is preferable.
• Able to make difficult decisions and take calculated risks.
• Strong and charismatic individual who leads by example.
• Analytically strong, highly energetic, entrepreneur, goal and result driven.
