The organisation

The company is a private owned Italian producer and wholesaler of Spirits, Italian Wines, Confectionary products, Ice cream raw materials and Optical Lenses. The total group turnover is approximately Euro 350 million. The total spirits turnover is Euro 150 million. The turnover of the Dutch subsidiary on the Dutch Market is about Euro 7 million (99% spirits).

The Dutch organization consists of: 1 Country Manager, 2 Sales Managers, 1 Financial Controller, 1 Assistant Controller / Customer Services. The culture of the Dutch organization is characterised by fact based, fast decisions and no thrills.

The position

The Country Manager Netherlands must ensure and carry out the duties and responsibilities with a clear view to maximise sales while at the same time ensuring the satisfaction of all Customers, Partners and head office.

Although the title of the job is “Country Manager Netherlands”, the job is very operational with a strong focus on sales. The Country Manager Netherlands will operate as a Senior Sales Manager / Key Account Manager

The Country Manager Netherlands is responsible for all co-ordination, control of all activities off the Dutch subsidiary in line with Head office policies, strategies and financial targets.

Specific Duties

  • Expand and grow in line with the strategic business plan.
  • Improve the volume levels of spirits and to improve the volume levels of the other products including wines.
  • Identify market changes, new possibilities, needs and act accordingly with the aim to optimise the company’s core business, goals and success.
  • Plan, organize, establish commercial programs, manage sales and distribution of the products under consideration of the of cost efficiency and the organisational impact.
  • Manage the marketing activities in the Netherlands. Although input from the Netherlands is welcome, marketing is organised from the head office and the Netherlands are following.
  • Responsible for commercial product development in the Netherlands and for the distribution agreements, as approved by the holding.
  • Establish and maintain close links with the external market, where you represent the highest level of corporate image and identification.
  • Establish and keep a high priority in having a good business and social relationship with all the current and potential customers.
  • Be a leader and team player an initiate measures which contribute to the success of the entire crew at the Dutch Organization. Create a culture which encourages the team to be a successful business minded team, reward excellent performances which contribute and maximise the overall business objectives.
  • Initiate and ensure relevant reports, statistics, proposals for marketing, expansion plans, as well as forecast budgets are forwarded, accurately and promptly.

The Country Manager Netherlands reports to the International Sales Director at HQ. He/she manages hierarchical all employees of the Dutch subsidiary. The two Sales Managers will also report functional to the Country Manager Netherlands. The other employees report functional to their counterpart at HQ.

Candidate profile

  • At least seven years of experience in sales. Previous experience in sales in the spirits business is mandatory. A marketing executive will not fit within the job profile.
  • Education on a Bachelor level or higher.
  • Pleasant and accessible sales personality with well-developed soft skills, who is at ease with and well received by different kinds people. Hands-on mentality, no academic theorizing type. “Can do” attitude. Humorous and not arrogant. Cooperative. Flexible but also firm when necessary.
  • Drive, enthusiasm and high intrinsic motivation (self-motivated). Reliable.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in Dutch and English (speaking and understanding Italian is an advantage).

Salary

€100.000 OTE.
