Job description:
The successful candidate will optimise existing business processes. He/she will develop, implement and manage new business processes with regard to an integral – technical and organisational – approach to reduce costs of goods sold, optimise trade working capital and improve SHE performance in order to standardise and improve performance levels in existing and acquired companies. He/she is responsible for developing a European manufacturing and logistics strategy (network planning), optimising asset utilisation and allocation of capital expenditure.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Managing Director in developing and executing growth plans and annual strategic planning cycles.
- Represent (the interests of) the company within a multiple layer concern environment.
- Develop and implement a CSR program, in which compliance with legislation and the company policies is a minimum requirement. The program encompasses health, safety and environmental aspects and is aimed at improvements in hardware, systems / procedures and culture / behaviour.
- Develop a blueprint (organisation, processes, governance model etc.) for a European operations concept, incl. centres of excellence for production, network of distribution centres and service locations.
- Set up, execute and implement programs for Operational Excellence improvement projects.
- Contribute to the development of an authority position for the company in terms of innovative products and processes, like alternative surface treatments, manufacturing processes etc.
- Program management for the implementation of the Lean Six Sigma methodology to establish a culture of continuous improvement.
- Initiate, develop and implement supply chain improvements, both per company as in EU.
- Support the integration of, and synergies between, the various businesses in terms of cooperation and/or shared services where possible.
- Increase business efficiency and performance by Continuous Improvement processes, including operational KPI’s, Best-in-Class Practices and Benchmarking.
Your profile:
The successful candidate is an operations professional with a clear business and entrepreneurial understanding. He/she holds a university degree in (mechanical) Engineering. He/she has proficient knowledge and experience (10+ years) in a senior operational/manufacturing position within an international, publicly listed company. He/she has a clear understanding of CSR policies and Quality & Safety, Health, Environment management systems (f.e. ISO 9000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).

- Strategic planning and project management skills.
- Analytical and process oriented skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the flexibility and adaptability to liaise with all levels in the organisation.
- Positive attitude, open minded and accessible team player.
- Hands-on - pragmatic – result driven - eye for detail where needed.
- Willing to travel frequently within Europe, mostly two-day trips.
- Fluent in English, preferably also German and/or French.
Terms of employment:
- €130.000 base salary (indicative)
- 25% bonus
