European Director QHSE

The position

The Director QHSE is responsible for upholding the internal Quality and Safety standards on all activities in Europe. In your role you liaise with internal stakeholders, such as local Director and QHSE specialists, to be updated on local affairs, tenders and audits. In addition, you have contact with the external parties involved in checking our high standards.

You will be leading a team of 5, who work on maintaining the certificates of our client, including ISO 9001/27001, OHSAS 18001 and IEC 61511. In addition, you ensure that the production maintains a high-quality standard while respecting the internal QHSE guidelines.

The team can be divided into two parts: Product Compliance and Coordination. They are responsible for the following tasks:
Quality: The ISO 9001 certified QMS system is reviewed on a regular basis by the team, to check the performance and to spot possibilities for improvement;
Health and Safety: A uniform health and safety system is in place for all Yokogawa locations, as it is the number one priority for all employees. This system needs continuous monitoring for safety and improvements;
Environment: The prevention of pollution and preservation of the environment is of high importance to Yokogawa. This is why we oversee that all local and European legislations and regulations are followed;
Product Compliance: In order to sell our products within the region, we make sure that we follow the standards of the European Union. We check this on site before, during, and after production. You can think of ATEX compliance and the CE marking.

Candidate profile

In order to be successful in this role as Director QHSE, you have:

• MSc in (Mechanical) Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Automation, or related;
• 15+ years of experience within QHSE;
• Familiarity with a matrix organisation;
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, ISO 9001 and Product Compliance;

As a person, you are a real people manager who can motivate the team and support them in career development. You take responsibility and ownership of the topics that are related with QHSE. You are fluent in English and knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
