Head - Critical Piping

As a head hunter we are searching for our client for following position Head – Critical Piping.

Key Responsibilities 

• Leading the business with P&L responsibility. Position will closely manage over all business functions like BD, Production, Quality, Project Execution and client handling with support of direct reportees. 
• Identification of current business opportunities, networking and building future business leads. 
• Develop a strategic plan for revenue, profitability, and growth of the business unit as an organization and to achieve strategic alignment with overall objectives of the Company. 
• Get involved in External Networking & Policy Advocacy and build the brand image and enhance business volumes. 
• Business planning, budgeting and forecasting related skills/ competencies required. 
• Achieve targets in terms of completing projects on time and within the budgeted costs while maintaining high standards of quality. 
• Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with changes in business environment. 
• Help present Domestic Business report at Shareholder and Board of Directors meetings. 
• Approve company’s Standard Operating Procedures, policies, and standards. Undertake special initiatives to improve existing processes and enhance efficiencies. 
• Must lead by example to build a competent, high performing and committed team. 
• Evaluate performance of executives in achieving objectives for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions. A fast decision maker with high acumen towards resolving multi-dimensional business issues is desirable

Competency / skill set desired 

• The person should have handled P&L for a cluster of projects ranging from USD 80 Million to USD 120 Million having successfully managed such projects in the past in his career. 
• He should have rich experience in business development during the last five years, with extensive network of contacts with the Domestic as well as International Power Sector/ Oil & Gas Companies 
• He should have the necessary contacts and networking skills to open doors easily with these companies. 
• Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. 
• Should be able to understand the effect of current Government policies and changes that could potentially impact the business and take steps to manage and leverage the same. 
• Should be commercially savvy with good experience of contracting and negotiating 
• Ability to prioritize and manage various critical projects simultaneously and utilize resources judiciously 
• Experience in strategic planning and execution of construction projects, preferably in downstream pipeline and process plant construction 
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and develop and deliver presentations 
• Should be innovative and entrepreneurial with an informed risk taking ability 
• Smart and articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to motivate teams

Desired profile 

• Graduate in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgical preferably) 
• Experience of at least 25 years in the engineering / fabrication / welding of critical piping for thermal power projects or Oil & Gas projects 
• The person should have an extensive network and contacts at senior level (Procurement Heads/ Decision Makers/ Consultants) in the Power or Oil & Gas Industry 
• Age: 48-54yrs 
• This position plays a leadership/vantage point role in establishing the Critical Piping Business and therefore there is a strong emphasis on both leadership and delivery. 
• This person will have to deal with external domestic & International clients for the Critical Piping fabrication business and hence, the executive presence should be of a very high level.
